“C” VISA – FOR SHORT-TERM STAY

І. “C” visa for transit

When issued
A short – stay visa for transit is issued to a foreigner who wishes to pass through the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria on the way to another country holding a visa, where required. The transit visa entitles the foreigner to one, two or more (as an exception), on several transit passages, each for a period of up to two days. It can be valid for up to 12 months.

Duration of stay
The General Republic of residence on the territory of Bulgaria with a transit visa cannot exceed 90 days in any period 6 months from the date of first entry.

What is a “transit”?
The main condition for accepting transit is entry through the border of the Republic of Bulgaria with one country and crossing the border of the Republic of Bulgaria with another country. There is a special case related to transit through the airport, where transit crossing is accepted by flight from one country and crossing by flight to another country within two days.

No transit visa required
No transit visa is required for third – country nationals upon submission of some of the following documents:

– Schengen / uniform visa /, long – stay visa, permit for residence in spaces provided on each Schengen side;

– national short-stay visas, long-stay visas; residence permit and residence permit issued by Romania or Cyprus;

– residence permit issued by Liechtenstein

The right to visa-free passes under the terms of transit decisions only and exclusively for the purposes of transit.

What documents do I need to submit when applying for a C visa?
When submitting an application for a visa for transit of applicants I present:

Regular document for travel abroad
Photocopying from the pages of the document for travel abroad with personal data and with the issued visas and / or a photocopy of the permits held for residence for those following the route of the States and for the State of destination travel, if necessary;
Completed application form and 1 / one / color photo / passport format -3.5 x 4.5 /
Evidence of provided transport for transit and a copy of these documents and / or evidence of financial resources held for continuation of the journey
Evidence of possession of the necessary financial resources for maintenance for each transit of at least EUR 50, or this equivalent in another freely convertible currency, and in transit crossing by land with a person driven by the person – and funds of at least EUR 200, or those equivalent in another freely convertible currency

6. A valid insurance policy and a copy thereof issued by an insurance company licensed to operate on the territory of the European Union with a minimum amount of coverage 2 of EUR 30 000. The policy should cover repatriation costs as well as emergency medical aid and treatment costs for each of the transit journeys.

ІІ. “C” visa for the purpose of planned stay

When is “C” Visa issued?
A short – stay residence visa for the purpose of planned residence is issued on a foreigner who enters the country once, twice or repeatedly for a total period of residence for up to 90 days within every 6 months from the date of the first half entry.

Multiple visa for short stay
A multiple-entry short-stay visa may be valid up to 12 months or exclusion – up to 5 years.

A multiple-entry visa valid for up to one year may be issued of a foreigner, provided that in the previous year he received a short-stay visa residence and has been used in accordance with the legal rules for entry and residence in the Republic of Bulgaria and were created for applying for a multiple entry visa.

A multiple-entry visa, valid for no more than 5 years, can be issued to a foreigner, provided that in the previous two years and received used a one-year multiple-entry visa, in accordance with the law for entry and residence in the Republic of Bulgaria and the grounds for request for multiple entry visas are still valid.

Multiple short-stay visas can be issued at a foreigner who meets any of the following conditions:

Maintains lasting business contacts with Bulgarian natural or legal persons, carrying out economic activity within the meaning of the Commercial Law
Maintains lasting contacts with Bulgarian legal entities performing activity within the meaning of the Non-profit Legal Entities Act
Maintains permanent contacts with foreign representation legal entities, etc.
